Thinking Outside The Box – Underwater Hotels
Imagine having your own little vacation house perched above a coral reef on an island off the coast of Africa. Topside, by day, you can sun yourself, relaxing on a large lounging deck and swimming in calm, turquoise waters. At night, after enjoying a sparkling view of the heavens, you retire below to a bedroom where you are treated to a near 360-degree panorama of colorful tropical fish and vibrant coral through thick glass walls. When I learned about this place recently, I was blown away!
You can enjoy this once-in-lifetime experience at one of the most secluded areas in the world–The Manta Resort in Pemba Island, Zanzibar. This tranquil, picturesque world with clear waters, soft white sand, fresh smelling air, and ancient history has the combination of serenity and excitement that most resorts don’t offer.
Of course, you have other accommodation options, such as the seafront villas or scenic rooms in the gardens. There is a ten-day fully inclusive package available (including one daily spa treatment per person) with rates beginning around $1,238 per person going up to $2,608 per person (The underwater room is an additional $750 per person).
Personally, I like to do more than relax on a beach. Snorkeling trips, lighthouse walks, rainforest guides, sandbank excursions, sunset cruises, fishing – the list goes on with activities that will add vitality to your. The yearly average temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) makes this tropical island the perfect sunbather’s retreat.
Forget the fast-paced living, anxiety of work, and ordinary vacation spots closer to home. Treat yourself to a vacation in paradise.
