Now we know why mermaids are so stunning: It’s all the beautifying ingredients found in the ocean, from glow-boosting algae to skin-soothing seaweed! You may think of seaweed as that icky, slimy stuff that gets tangled in your feet at the beach, but a nutrient-rich dose of the deep sea is just what you need to revitalize your beauty routine.

Who knew a seaweed bath was the elixir of youth? Well, Asian women have, for thousands of years! Seriously though, algae is loaded with omega 3’s, which promotes the growth of elastic and collagen for supple skin. It’s packed with minerals and natural amino acids, which traps moisture in the skin to soothe dry, itchy skin. Seaweed baths are also highly detoxifying, penetrating your skin to draw out impurities so you’re refreshed and rejuvenated.

You don’t need to go to a fancy spa to nourish your skin—you can make your own soak in the relaxation of your own home! The ingredients can be easily found at the health food store so you can emerge from the tub as a silky-smooth sea goddess.

Seaweed Bath Soak

Ingredients

Hot Water

1/2 cup of Dried Seaweed Powder

1/2 of Sea Salt

To prepare your bath, first pick up dried seaweed powder at the store. Fill the tub with hot water and let a ½ cup of dried seaweed powder steep for 5 minutes. Add a ½ cup of sea salt to amp up the relaxation factor. Sea salt is also mineral-rich, and draws out toxins from your pores while improving circulation. If you’d like, add your favorite essential oils to the mix. Lie back and soak to your heart’s content.

As always, it’s best to lock in moisture after a long bath with oil or Shea Butter. In 20 minutes, rinse off to reveal radiant skin!
